Latest Scam Alert: How to Identify Phone Scams Posing as the ‘Exit-Entry Administration Bureau’
May 12 2025

Common Scam Tactics

Fake Caller ID: Scammers use technology to make the call appear as if it’s coming from “+86 10 12367” — the official number of the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau — when in fact, it’s a spoofed number.

Intimidation and Threats: They claim there is an issue with your visa or residence permit and demand immediate cooperation, threatening deportation if you don’t comply.

Requests for Money Transfers: They may ask you to transfer money under the guise of a “security deposit” or “fine,” or request your bank account information.

How to Recognize and Prevent Scams

Verify Through Official Channels:

The Exit-Entry Administration Bureau will never ask for money or bank details over the phone.

If you receive such a call, hang up and call 12367 (the official hotline of the National Immigration Administration) or visit your local immigration office in person.

Be Alert to Suspicious Requests:

Any call asking you to transfer money, download unknown apps, or share SMS verification codes is a scam.

If the caller tells you to “keep it confidential” or “don’t inform your company’s HR,” it’s definitely fraudulent.

Company Support:

Foreign employees are strongly advised to contact their HR or administrative department immediately if they receive such calls.
