From July 5 to 6, the 2025 National BMX Freestyle Championships and National Youth BMX Freestyle Championships took place at the Chongli Extreme Sports Cycling Park. Over the two-day event, athletes representing teams and individuals from more than ten provinces and cities—including Hebei, Henan, Guangdong, Anhui, Hubei, Sichuan, and Fujian—competed on the same stage.

The event was hosted by the Chinese Cycling Association and the Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau, and organized by the Hebei Provincial Cycling Sports Center, Hebei Cycling Association, Zhangjiakou Sports Bureau, and Chongli District People's Government. It was co-organized by the Chongli Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and Beijing Qiansen Sports & Cultural Investment Development Co., Ltd.
The competition was packed with excitement, as the quality of high-difficulty tricks—such as barspins, backflips, and tailwhips—directly affected athletes’ technical scores. Riders showcased their superb skills with thrilling, visually stunning performances. Each airborne leap and dazzling tail flick earned waves of cheers and applause from the audience.
After intense battles, the championships concluded with winners across various categories. Hai Yang from Team Sichuan and Fan Xiaotong from Team Guangdong claimed the titles in the Men's and Women's Elite categories respectively. In the youth division, Xiao Xixi and Liu Haoran, both from the Dongguan Huangjiang Sports School Team, won the Women’s and Men’s Youth titles respectively. In the team events, Sichuan secured the Men's Elite Team Championship, while Guangdong took the Women's Elite Team Championship.

During the event, the organizers also launched a themed educational tour to the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum for participating athletes. Through a range of exhibits and high-tech interactive experiences, athletes were able to deepen their understanding of the history and culture of winter sports and expand their knowledge of the Winter Olympics.
The successful hosting of this event marked a key initiative in Chongli’s “Winter Skiing, Summer Cycling” strategy. It represents a significant step forward in developing iconic sporting and cultural tourism events in the Beijing-Zhangjiakou area. The event not only boosted the sports economy and consumer vitality in Zhangjiakou’s Chongli District, but also injected new momentum into the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
