On August 3, the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore came to a close. The Chinese swimming team collected 2 silver and 2 bronze medals on the final day, bringing their total to 15 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze medals—37 in total—securing the top position on the overall medal table.

In the women’s 50m breaststroke final, Tang Qianting, swimming from lane 5, gave it her all and claimed the silver medal with a season-best time of 30.03 seconds. Lithuanian star Rūta Meilutytė won gold with a time of 29.55 seconds.
In the women’s 50m freestyle final, Wu Qingfeng and Cheng Yujie clocked 24.26 and 24.28 seconds respectively, winning silver and bronze for China. Cheng also set a new personal best. It marked the first time that both Wu and Cheng stood on the individual podium at a World Championships.

In the women’s 400m individual medley final, 12-year-old Yu Zidi placed fourth with a personal best of 4:33.76. Additionally, the Chinese team composed of Peng Xuwei, Tang Qianting, Zhang Yufei, and Cheng Yujie earned bronze in the women’s 4×100m medley relay with a time of 3:54.77.
In total, the Chinese swimming team concluded the championships with 2 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze medals—14 in total.
On the final day of diving events, Zhu Zifeng scored 506.10 points in the men's 10m platform final to place fourth, while Zhao Renjie was fifth with 499.95 points. It was the first time since 1982 that the Chinese diving team did not reach the podium in this event. The gold went to an Australian diver, the silver to Ukraine, and the bronze to Mexico.
Despite this, the Chinese diving team finished with 9 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals—16 in total—ranking first in the diving medal table.
In artistic swimming, which concluded on July 25, China claimed 4 gold and 3 silver medals, totaling 7. The team secured 3 golds in group events and a silver in the women's duet technical routine. Xu Huiyan won gold in the women's solo technical routine and silver in the solo free routine. Guo Mu also took silver in the men's solo free routine.
