On May 11, Beijing time, the 2025 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus concluded all five events. The Chinese duo Qi Ying and Zhang Zixi clinched the gold medal in the trap mixed team final by defeating the Polish team. This marks China's first World Cup championship in this event.

The Chinese pair advanced to the gold medal match after finishing second in the qualification round via a shoot-off. In the first round of the final, both teams hit 8 targets. After two rounds, Poland led narrowly with 17 hits to China’s 16. The third round became the turning point: China missed only one target and hit 9, while Poland hit just 7, allowing China to overtake them. The Chinese team maintained their lead to the end and secured victory with a final score of 42 to 39.

For 19-year-old Zhang Zixi, this is the first World Cup gold medal of her career.

Earlier, Che Yufei won a bronze medal in the women’s skeet event. With 1 gold and 1 bronze, China ranked second on the medal table at this leg of the World Cup.
