On July 28, the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore entered its third day of diving events, featuring the men's 3m synchronized springboard and the women's 10m synchronized platform finals. Team China secured two gold medals in these events, with Wang Zongyuan/Zheng Jiuyuan and Chen Yuxi/Zhang Minjie taking the top spots, respectively. In swimming, which entered its second day, Qin Haiyang claimed the first gold for China in the swimming category by winning the men's 100m breaststroke final with a time of 58.23 seconds.

Qin Haiyang had advanced to the final with the fastest time in the semifinals, clocking 58.24 seconds. In the final, swimming in lane 4, he trailed Italian swimmer Nicolò Martinenghi at the 50-meter turn, but surged in the second half to overtake him and finish in 58.23 seconds.

Martinenghi took silver in 58.58 seconds, while Kyrgyz swimmer Petrashov earned bronze with 58.88 seconds. After the race, Qin remarked, “It’s been a tough period for me, and now I finally feel like I’m back on track. It hasn’t been easy.”
