On July 29, the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore continued with impressive performances from the Chinese team. China’s diving team claimed two more gold medals in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard and the men’s synchronized 10m platform finals. In swimming, Tang Qianting earned a bronze in the women’s 100m breaststroke final, and Chen Jun’er set a new national record in the men’s 200m butterfly semifinal.
In the women’s synchronized 3m springboard final, the Chinese pair Chen Yiwen and Chen Jia stunned the crowd with a superb score of 325.20 to win gold, securing China’s sixth diving gold of the championships and marking the team’s 14th consecutive world title in this event. The British duo, Smyn Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen, took silver, while Mexico’s Lia Lobato and Mia Lobato claimed bronze. After narrowly missing a medal in the women’s 1m springboard earlier, Chen Jia expressed her joy, saying, “Happiness has made up for the disappointment.” Both Chen Yiwen and Chen Jia will also compete in the women’s individual 3m springboard event. “We hope everyone can perform at their best and win both gold and silver for Team China,” said Chen Yiwen. She added that she aims to surpass her previous scores in the individual event: “I hope I can break 400 points again.”

In the men’s synchronized 10m platform final, Chinese divers Cheng Zilong and Zhu Zifeng, who led the preliminaries, were last to perform in the final. They took the lead after their second dive. Despite a mistake by Zhu on the fourth dive that temporarily cost them the top spot, the duo quickly recovered. In their final dive, a 5255B, they scored an impressive 90.72 points, securing gold with a narrow 0.93-point margin over the neutral athletes' team. The U.S. pair finished with the bronze. This marked the seventh diving gold for China in this championship.

In swimming, Tang Qianting clocked 1:05.64 to win bronze in the women’s 100m breaststroke final. Chen Jun’er set a new national record with a personal best of 1:54.02 in the men’s 200m butterfly semifinal, ranking third overall and advancing to the final. In the women’s 100m backstroke final, Peng Xuwei placed fifth with a personal best of 59.10 seconds. In the women’s 1500m freestyle final, Li Bingjie finished fourth in 15:49.54, while teammate Yang Peiqi set a personal best of 16:04.93 to finish eighth.
