On September 7, 2025, the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting in Beijing concluded at the National Olympic Sports Center. Chinese athletes delivered outstanding performances, capturing four gold medals in men’s pole vault, men’s high jump, women’s javelin, and women’s 3000m.

In the men’s pole vault final, three Chinese athletes who have qualified for the Tokyo World Athletics Championships—Zhong Tao, Huang Bokai, and Li Chenyang—took part. The competition started at 5.35m. Zhong Tao showed excellent form, clearing 5.35m, 5.50m, 5.65m, and 5.75m on his first attempts, topping the field. Although he failed three times at 5.85m, he still secured the gold with 5.75m, equaling his personal best. American Cole Walsh claimed silver, while the Philippines’ Ernest John Obiena and China’s Huang Bokai shared bronze.


Meanwhile, Chinese athletes Li Jialun, Wang Zhen, and Wu Guobiao swept the podium in the men’s high jump. In the women’s javelin final, rising star Yan Ziyi struck gold, with Su Lingdan and Dai Qianqian taking silver and bronze. In the women’s 3000m, Liang Tiantian set a personal best of 8:57.65 to clinch the title.


In the men’s 110m hurdles final, Xu Zhuoyi equaled his season’s best of 13.23 to earn silver, while youngster Chen Yuanjiang took bronze. In the men’s 100m final, Chinese sprint star Xie Zhenye clocked a season-best 10.21 to finish fourth.
