Chinese Swimming Association Announces Roster for World Championships

The 2025 World Aquatics Championships will be held in Singapore from July 11 to August 3. On July 4, the Chinese Swimming Association officially announced the national team roster for the event.

Swimming competitions will take place from July 27 to August 3. Team China is sending 34 athletes to compete in 41 events. The roster includes:
Zhang Yufei, Li Bingjie, Tang Qianting, Yu Yiting, Liu Yaxin, Wu Qingfeng, Wan Letian, Cheng Yujie, Peng Xuwei, Yang Peiqi, Yang Chang, Ma Yonghui, Wang Yichun, Yu Zidi, Lü Qinyao, Chang Mohan, Lu Xingchen, Yang Wenwen, Wang Shun, Pan Zhanle, Xu Jiayu, Qin Haiyang, Sun Jiajun, Dong Zhihao, Ji Xinjie, Fei Liwei, Zhang Zhanshuo, Wang Haoyu, Chen Jun'er, Xu Fang, Wang Gukailai, Liu Wudi, Yu Jingming, and Lin Yuchen.
This is the youngest squad China has ever sent to the World Championships, with the men's team averaging 22.6 years old and the women's team averaging 20.1 years old.


Diving events will run from July 26 to August 3. The “Dream Team” will feature 14 athletes competing in 13 events. In May’s National Diving Championships—which served as the selection trials for Worlds—Quan Hongchan withdrew due to injury and did not qualify. Chang Yani, who won Olympic gold in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard with Chen Yiwen, will also miss the championships due to injury.
The diving team roster includes:
Li Yajie, Chen Yuxi, Zhang Minjie, Chen Yiwen, Xie Peiling, Chen Jia, Cao Yuan, Zhu Yongxin, Wang Zongyuan, Zheng Jiuyuan, Cheng Zilong, Zhu Zifeng, Yan Siyu, and Zhao Renjie.


Artistic swimming will take place from July 18 to 25. The Chinese team is sending 13 athletes to compete in 11 events. Athletes Feng Yu, Chang Hao, Xiang Binxuan, and Cheng Wentao also participated in the Paris Olympics. Male swimmer Guo Muye has also qualified.
The team, which has seen rapid progress in recent years, made history in Paris by winning gold in both the team and duet events, and dominated the World Cup Final this year with 7 golds, 3 silvers, and 1 bronze.
The artistic swimming team includes:
Feng Yu, Chang Hao, Cheng Wentao, Lin Yanhan, Lin Yanjun, Li Xiuchen, Xu Huiyan, Zhang Yayi, Liu Jinhan, Xiang Binxuan, Dai Shiyi, Guo Sitong, and Guo Muye.


Open water swimming begins on July 15. China is sending 6 athletes to compete in 7 events. The 3km short-distance elimination race is being included in the World Championships for the first time.
Athletes include: Liu Yaxin, Wang Kexin, Cheng Hanyu, Tian Muran, Zhang Jinhou, and Lan Tianchen.
This will be Liu Yaxin’s debut in open water competition at an international level—she is also the only Chinese athlete competing in both open water and pool events at this year’s championships.


Water polo will be contested from July 11 to 24.

The women’s team roster includes:
Yan Jing, Wang Huan, Du Xinyue, Zhang Qishuo, Shen Yinen, Wang Huan, Yan Siya, Wang Shiyun, Shao Yixin, Zhang Yumian, Zhang Jingwen, Zhou Shang, Nong Sanfeng, Zou Yuhe, and Ma Li.
The men’s team roster includes:
Chen Yimin, Shen Dingsong, Wang Beiyi, Cai Yuhao, Liu Zhilong, Peng Jiahao, Wen Zijun, Wu Honghui, Chen Zhongxian, Xie Zekai, Li Deming, Chen Rui, Zhu Jiashao, Liu Yu, and Wu Yongxiang.
