Jun 05 2025

To further promote the "Motherland in My Heart" themed education initiative, strengthen preparations under the guidance of Party building, and enhance the effectiveness of Party-related work, the National Training Team for Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom recently visited the Honor Hall of the General Administration of Sport’s Training Bureau. Through revisiting the history of sports development in New China, they gained a deeper understanding of the struggles of sports pioneers and drew spiritual strength for their preparations for the Milan Winter Olympics.

Upon entering the Honor Hall, the athletes were greeted by an interactive wall showcasing Olympic champions. Seeing images of hundreds of champions raising their arms in victory, they couldn’t help but exclaim, “How amazing it would be to see ourselves on this wall one day!”

The entire team studied the history of Chinese competitive sports and reflected on the rich meaning of the Chinese sports spirit. In the exhibition area dedicated to this spirit, the stories of generations of athletes moved the team deeply. When hearing about how Chen Jingkai, backed by the strength of 600 million people, lifted weights to turn the tide, many athletes were brought to tears. The ideal of bringing glory to the nation is a firm belief rooted in every athlete's heart.

Athlete Gong Naiying shared, “The hard training and trailblazing efforts of the predecessors deeply touched and inspired me. With just over 200 days until the Milan Winter Olympics, we must seize every moment to train harder and strive to elevate the performance of China's snowboard parallel giant slalom program.”

Athlete Bai Xinhui added, “I now understand that behind every Olympic champion's smile lies immense dedication and effort. I want to learn from their patriotic commitment and unyielding spirit.”

Athlete Ban Xuefu remarked, “What’s displayed in the Honor Hall are not just gold medals and trophies, but the medals of older generations who continuously challenged their physical limits and surpassed themselves. I will learn from their spirit, stay committed, and charge forward toward Milan.”

Athlete Lü Meishuo was most impressed by the faded training diaries and yellowed wristbands of past athletes: “These old items speak to me of the power of perseverance.”

All athletes expressed their determination to follow the example of their predecessors, repay the country with hard training and outstanding results, and do their utmost at the Milan Winter Olympics, continuing the journey of struggle and achieving new success.

Taking this visit as a starting point, all athletes and staff of the national snowboard parallel giant slalom training team will continue to learn from and reflect on the Chinese sports spirit and the Beijing Winter Olympics spirit, drawing powerful motivation to fulfill the honorable mission entrusted to them by the country and the people.
