In the qualification round of the women’s 25m pistol event, Chinese shooter Yao Qianxun topped the rankings with a new junior world record, advancing strongly to the final. Sun Yujie, on the other hand, narrowly made it into the final, finishing eighth in the qualifiers. During the final, Sun began to take the lead after the fifth series of shots. After eight series, only three shooters remained: Sun Yujie and South Korean athletes Yang Ji-in and Oh Yi-jin. Following the ninth series, Yang Ji-in was eliminated. Before the final series began, both Sun and Oh were tied at 34 hits. The gold medal came down to the last five shots. In a dramatic finish, Oh Yi-jin missed her first three shots, while Sun Yujie hit all three, securing the gold medal before the final two shots. She finished with a total of 38 hits, claiming the title once again following her victories in Argentina and Peru.

Yao Qianxun was tied with Yang Ji-in after the seventh series. In a subsequent two-round shoot-off, Yao was narrowly defeated by Yang and finished in fifth place.
