On June 10th, Beijing time, at the 2025 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup held in Munich, Germany, Chinese athlete Wang Zifei claimed the first gold medal of the competition in the women's 10m air rifle event.

Wang delivered a dominant performance in the qualification round, scoring a total of 637.9 points to finish first and advance to the final. This score not only broke the world record for the qualification round but also set a new world junior record—improving the previous marks by 1 and 2 points respectively. Fellow Chinese shooter Han Jiayu also qualified for the final.
After the first five shots in the final, Wang was in third place. She remained among the top competitors throughout and eventually entered the medal round alongside India’s Elavenil and Korea’s Kwon Eunji. After 22 shots, Wang managed a 10.9 under intense pressure, pushing her to the top of the leaderboard and into a head-to-head battle with the Korean shooter for the final two shots.

In the 23rd shot, Wang scored 10.6, maintaining a 0.6-point lead. Although her opponent scored 10.8 with the final shot and Wang only managed 10.3, Wang still secured the gold medal with a total of 252.7 points—winning by a margin of 0.1 point. This marks her third World Cup victory in this event and her third time standing atop the World Cup podium in her career. Han Jiayu finished sixth overall.
After the match, Wang Zifei expressed her joy at winning the gold but remained composed, saying, “I’m happy to win this medal, but I don’t have too many thoughts. My scores have been improving from the last stop to this one, and I hope to keep making progress in the future.”
