The 6th General Assembly of the Chinese Swimming Association was held in Beijing on the 22nd, where Zhou Jihong was elected as the association's president. On the same day, the 2nd General Assembly of the Chinese Diving Association took place, during which Zhou was re-elected as president.

According to reports, Zhou Jihong stated that the Chinese Swimming Association aims to bring greater glory and achieve better results for Chinese swimming, contributing to national development, social progress, and public well-being through the high-quality development of the sport.
Zhou noted that, in terms of total Olympic gold medals and number of athletes, diving is considered a small-scale event at the Olympics. However, thanks to the relentless efforts of multiple generations, China has turned this "small event" into a "great cause."
The Chinese Diving Association was established in January 2020, with Zhou Jihong serving as its first president. Upon her re-election, she emphasized that the association’s current primary task is to prepare for the crucial battle of the Los Angeles Olympic Games. The association will implement reforms and innovations in areas such as national team management and talent development, seizing opportunities and confronting challenges to help achieve the overall objectives for the Los Angeles Games and contribute to building a leading sports nation.
Earlier, on March 26, the official website of China’s General Administration of Sport announced leadership adjustments, stating that Zhou Jihong had been relieved of her positions as Director of the Swimming Administration Center and Team Leader of the National Diving Team, in accordance with national retirement regulations.
According to public records, Zhou Jihong was born in 1965 and won the women's 10-meter platform gold medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, securing China's first Olympic gold in diving. She became a coach of the Chinese national diving team in 1990, was appointed team leader in 1998, elected the first-ever female Vice President of World Aquatics (formerly FINA) in 2021, and became Director of the Swimming Administration Center in 2023.

Under Zhou’s leadership, the Chinese diving team has claimed 46 Olympic gold medals and, notably, swept all eight gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games for the first time in history.
